I have always loved horses, but just loving these majestic creatures wasn't enough for me. I wanted to be immersed in them and learn everything possible about them. Horses had to be an integral part of my life. By the age of six I started begging for riding lessons. Every time we went by this farm, across from my elementary school, I implored my parents to stop. As luck would have it, one day they did! Thus began my riding career! I was involved in 4-H, and through this acquired many equine skills and opportunities to work, care for,and show all breeds of horses and ponies. Eventually I got my first horse and I knew the bug wasn't ever going to leave me. When the time came to decide upon a career I knew it would involve horses. I went to Uconn and earned a BS in Animal Science with a specialty in Equine Science. After a short career as a Veterinary technician I returned to UConn and earned a teaching certification. This led to the perfect job as an Equine Science teacher. I spent over 33 years teaching youth about horses, leadership and animals. I continued to own horses and educated myself about them. I participated in everything from Jumpers,Western Pleasure,Eventing, Dressage and even Competitive Endurance. Now retired from teaching but still wanting to do something hands on with horses, I got certified to start a career as your Saddle fitter ! My philosophy is “to do right by the horse”; Finding the right saddle for you and your horse so you can be a true partner with these magnificent animals. "For the Good Of The Horse" is my motto and I aim to do just that!
